When it comes to providing the best educational opportunities for her children, no barrier is too insurmountable for Ms. Olga Rodriguez, mother of Pre K-3 student Marleen Salazar. She truly embodies one of CSA’s most important core values- persistence. As a testament to her diligence, all three of her children currently attend excellent educational programs.
A native Spanish Speaker, Ms. Rodriguez does a great job of advocating for her children. Despite the linguistic limitations of the schools that her children attend, she has excelled at finding relevant information to ensure that her children are thriving academically. In her words, "I try my best to be understood by anyone I have to speak to in my children's schools."
"I do all of this for my children and their future"
Her ultimate goal– to instill the values of "responsibility and respect for educational opportunities" within her children. In support of this important objective, Ms. Rodriguez donates a significant amount of her busy schedule to the CSA Parent Ambassador and ESL programs. All this, while still making time to take her children to soccer practice, high school placement meetings, and violin practice. "I do all of this for my children and their future," she adds.
Another facet of Ms. Rodriguez's time is dedicated to her eldest daughter’s private high school application process. Ms. Rodriguez has worked closely with NJ SEEDS, an organization focused on increasing independent high school opportunities for underserved students. "Through NJ SEEDS, I have been looking into private high schools for my daughter, who has already applied to The Lawrenceville School, Princeton Day School, and Peddie School." When our Academy’s students reach middle school, we look forward to Ms. Rodriguez sharing her experience with the high school application process.
Witnessing Ms. Rodriguez's dedication, former staff member, Marlyn Arellano states, "Despite three different school schedules, Ms. Rodriguez frequently comes to my office seeking advice for her oldest daughter’s private school application process."

Reflecting on the trajectory of her childrens lives, Ms. Rodriguez comments, "It gives me lots of pleasure to see where my children are headed and I will continue to support them in any way possible." Appreciative of how CSA has impacted Marleen’s trajectory, she adds, "I know that the people who work at CSA have a passion to ensure that every student meets his/her highest potential…This school has truly been a blessing."Back to Family Stories
